They're doing it again ...

Everyone needs to visit Holly Jahangiri's blog and see what Mattel is doing now. Not only do they get to "test" their own products per CPSIA (remember Mattel caused the problems in the first place, triggered the CPSIA nightmare), now more products are lead-fested.

My battle-weary body and mind can't fight any more, but I'm extremely angry -- again and still.

It was very interesting for me to read the post. Thanks for it. I like such topics and everything connected to them. I would like to read more soon.

Actually, there are many who believe that Mattel triggered this mess on purpose, by knowingly importing toys with lead contaminated paint.

And now that they get to test their own stuff, this former lunatic conspiracy theory does not seem so oddball anymore.

After all, big companies *always* benefit from regulation, while small business suffers.

I know the small businesses that started to provide lead-free toys are going under thanks to the CPSIA, while Mattel keeps on going and going and ...

Not fair, huh?

@Michael, I normally steer clear of conspiracy theories, but there's an old adage that says, "Follow the money." Twisted as this is, who benefits? Government and big business (Mattel, in particular, but other big businesses will survive and drive out the competition, because volumes alone will allow them to absorb the cost of testing.) I don't think the notion's all that far-fetched, either.
