Although my short story entry in the Lulu Short Story contest didn't make the finals, someone at Lulu determined it to be good enough to be entered in the contest for a Nook and $100 gift certificate. The contest catch? The person with the most "customers" (actually supporters) who purchase a download of his/her eBook on December 26 wins.
The rules: Only downloads on December 26 count (so anyone who purchases a copy between now and Tuesday doesn't count, and anyone who downloads after Tuesday doesn't count). The person whose eBook short story accumulates the most downloads, only on that one day, wins.
I wanted to give downloads of One More Mystery away, but I would still have to pay the distribution cost for each download. Of course, doing that I would probably be better off financially if I bought the Nook. I also discovered that it takes 30 days to change the price; therefore, I can't do anything but hope people like the idea of my short story eBook enough (or maybe like me enough) to purchase it.
Oh, you want to know how and where to purchase a download on DECEMBER 26? Please go to Vivian Zabel's page on Lulu.com: http://www.lulu.com/ product/ebook/ one-more-mystery/18616450
Rather a different type of after Christmas sale, for one day only, December 26, and then it's more of a popularity contest than a sale. However, if you read the preview of One More Mystery, you might decide it sounds worth having.
By the way, did I say that only downloads on December 26 count? *grin*
Seriously, I would appreciate anyone who did go by and purchase a download of my short story. If you do, you'll get a teaser for the thriller I'm writing. The story line will be incorporated into the novel.
Also, I must give credit to Aidana WillowRaven for designing the cover.
In the meantime, I hope you have a very Merry Christmas.

Dear Vivian,
Thanks for letting us know about the contest. Congratulations on your short story,"One More Mystery" being chosen. Good luck in winning the contest for having the most people buy your story on December 26.
Merry Christmas.
Joan Y. Edwards
Hope you win, Vivian. I'll try to remember, but it might be a good idea to send another email on the morning of the 26th to remind everyone.
Thanks, Joan and Karen.
I'll be without my computer, even this antique laptop, the 25th and 26th. We'll be out of town.
Therefore, I have to hope others will remember.
At only $1.99, the story's a steal. Less than a cup of overpriced Starschmuck's (sorry - channeling the squirrel there for a second, even though I LOVE me some Starbuck's coffee).
Let's all show Viv that Santa's real! If you didn't get an invitation to the event, via Facebook, my first question is: WHY AREN'T WE FRIENDS THERE YET?
Let me know - that way, you SHOULD get a reminder on Monday morning.
Vivian, I'll put it in my calendar!
Dear Vivian,
This is a smashing attempt to win ... and I wish you good luck! I will be waiting to see if you make it through!
Taher
I'll be getting the PDF version since I don't have a nook, either ... lol.
Good luck, Vivian!
Thanks for all the good luck wishes, but unless people get the downloads, luck isn't going to help. Well, I can hope.
I'll certainly try to get the PDF version if I can on the 26th. Thanks for sharing about it, Vivian.
I just downloaded your story, Vivian. Good luck. Hope you win. :)
I just bought it but haven't succeeded in downloading it. Will keep on trying. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas.
I just bought my copy. :D Merry Christmas
I just bought a copy. Good luck, Vivster.
I just downloaded a copy, too! Good luck!
