Interesting Blog on Blog Tours

Anyone who wants to know more about virtual tours that promote books and authors should visit Book Touring. The blog is new, but in time, posts should provide fun ways to interact with blog tours, offer opportunities to be part of tours, and help us enjoy blog tours.

Authors have access to information about virtual tours: how to, when to, why to, etc. Now readers will have some insight into blog tours and a chance to join the fun. Schedules for ongoing tours will be available, or a link to find schedules. Opportunities will be offered for bloggers to join tours as hosts.

What a great way to learn about and become acquainted with authors and maybe illustrators. This blog offers a way to learn about new books that are on tour.

Bookmark this blog. I'm going to post there, too, so come visit me and the other guest posters.

Sounds good. How is everyone doing with the blog tours as far as sales go? Do they produce enough to be worth the time and effort?

Off to check out the site ... :)

When one considers the cost of traveling for book signings and appearances and the time and effort involved, a blog tour is very productive.

Few books are usually sold at a book signing, but often people come back later to purchase copies. Still authors spend time, effort, and travel to be there. Blog tours are the same, except the author doesn't have to travel -- saves gasoline and the author doesn't have to be on site for hours at a time.

The main value of any type of tour, physical or virtual, is getting one's name and book out there. More people read about an author and a book on a blog tour.

Every tour is different. But as Vivian has pointed out, the main goal should be to get your name out there - being recognized and developing a following are your biggest rewards. Once you are known, the sales will come whether from a virtual tour, a real tour or other means.

I've bookmarked this new site and have given it a glance. I think it is a very valuable site for both readers and authors alike. I will have to spread the word as well. See you all in the postings - E :)

One thing we need to emphasis more is making blog tours fun for readers, get them involved, create fun activities and posts that they will enjoy.

Readers, as well as other writers, are what are needed.
