Keeping track of the CPSIA

Below are links to some of my posts concerning the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008. Yes, we need to be sure that lead isn't in products for our children, but this law is poorly written and impacts products that do not have lead. We must keep pressuring our law makers to halt this law as it is written. The problems will affect us all and still not address the original cause of toys with lead which were imported.

Time is running out. The law goes into effect February 10, 2009.

Thanks for putting all your links in one spot Vivian. That's very helpful and I'm sure I'll be referring back to them often, as I just did so I could post something on The Wiggles message board about plastic water bottles.

I'm trying to keep the subject in front of people and make it easier to find material.

I'm glad it helps.

After I heard about the plastic problem, I bought some Pyrex. Now I just have to worry about not dropping any of it.

As far as the water bottles go, I'd think as long as you don't keep reusing them, it might not be as bad. They do come in handy for working out.

SPAN posted information on their website as well - www.spannet.org/cpsia-info-2009.htm.

According to them, it is the printer's responsibility.

However, it's all such a jumbled mess, who knows?

One party says one thing. Another says something else. All I know is my publishing company was the one required to prove books were tested.
