Sad news - Kirk Bjornsgaard is gone
I had planned on not adding to my blog until the scheduled post May 1 for VBT, but this morning I received news that 4RV author Kirk Bjornsgaard passed away. My heart aches with his loss and for his family. No matter how expected a death may be, it is still a shock to people who know and love him.
I posted an interview with Kirk a short three weeks ago; the interview can be found here. The world lost a good man and writer. The 4RV family is a member short.
Good bye, Kirk. You will be missed. Thank you for leaving us your novel.

It's always a great loss when someone with so much talent leaves us. My condolences to his family.
My sincere condolences to you and to Kirk's family, Viv. I'm glad he got to see his book published before he died. That he so touched you and others in life is a testament to how great the loss is, today.
I'm sorry to hear about the loss, Vivian.
I did not know him as an author, but I feel this was a most welcome tribute to one of our own (writers). Thank you for honoring him.
Those of us at 4RV and those who knew Kirk from OWFI will greatly miss one of our own. Kirk was an encourager to other writers and there will be a great hole in our hearts at his loss. Our thoughts and prayers are for his family and his many, many friends.
My prayers are with his family.
Beverly
My deepest thoughts and prayers go out to his family, Vivian.
Kirk was one of my oldest friends. I had known him since 1963, when we were 12 years old. Today was his birthday, and I am still in shattered shock. My prayers for his family.

Hi from Brian
I met Kirk & his wife when I lived in Tulsa, Ok. I'd got to know Kirk through his membership of a talk group on Yahoo, Underground Fire, for fans of the Ventures instrumental group. I helped him move house once before he moved to Ok City. We had a couple of jam sessions, me on guitar, Kirk on drums. He had a passion for the drums. Sadly I never caught up with him again, Id always meant to on a trip back to Okie.
Rest in peace Mate.
God Bless

Kirk was my second cousin. I had been in touch with him fairly recently in connection with a genealogical project involving other mutual relatives. Today his brother David, who had just located ny email address, wrote to inform me of his passing.
Oddly, I had seen neither Kirk nor David since they were very young children and I was probably in college. I was especially fond of his parents (His mother, Leonora, was my mother's first cousin.), and I vividly remember those active and bright little boys. My deepest condolences to Kirk's family.
